Originally about a vegetable garden, this blog now keeps record of all things that grow at the Walker house: people, social activities, knowledge, and occasionally plant life.
First: is it "tomatoes" or "tomatos?" Is there an "e" or not when its plural? Or am I confusing it with "potato?" Second: I heard from someone that when a plant has a flower bloom, you should pinch it off or the fruit/veggie will be bitter...? My tomato plants have these: So...I'd love any and all comments. Especially useful ones. Kthanks!
If you pinch that flower off you won't have any tomatoes. It bloom eventually turns into the tomato. Trust me, I do have a degree in agriculture. Surprising isn't it?

Sorry about it typo. Meant to say: It is the bloom that turns into the tomato.
ReplyDeleteI've heard that you should pinch off the branches that don't have a bloom on them so all the nutrients go to the fruit.
